OBAN TOUR

Tour Highlights: Dunstaffnage Castle, Dunollie Castle, Pulpit Hill, Oban Whisky Distillery, McCaig's Tower.

There are too many view points and castles in and around Oban to visit in one day on foot, so we make it easy for you by taking you to the finest on our Half Day Oban tour. First stop is Dunstaffnage Castle, a 13th Century castle on the bay famed for imprisoning poor Flora MacDonald in 1746 all because she helped Bonnie Prince Charlie. We then take you to Dunollie Castle, an ancient stronghold and home to the MacDougall clan. Now a ruin held together by the greenery growing up it, it has commanding sea views of Oban and the harbour.

Another hill, another brilliant view - this time Pulpit Hill. Gaze out across the harbour and watch the ferries, yachts and fishing boats come and go. We then drop you at the Oban Distillery for a tour and a wee dram to finish up with. You’ll still have time to walk up to McCaig’s tower if you’ve got the energy! This stone built circular tower dominates the Oban skyline and is THE place to take that photo to send back home with Oban, Kerrera, Lismore and Mull in the distance. Perfect sunsets too!

Tour Prices

The Oban Half Day Tour lasts three hours and £13.00 per person for two or more persons. For one person, the tour lasts two hours and costs £16.00.

What's included

Your tour includes your lovely tour guide/driver and transport in our comfortable Oban Backpacker Tours vehicle.

Tour prices do not include entrance fees to sites or the distillery. Tour guests pay for these themselves on the day.

Your exact departure time will be confirmed when you book: Oban tours leave from Oban Backpackers Hostel reception in Breadalbane Street.

The Small Print

You must book and pay in advance, though you can cancel up to 48 hours beforehand. Should we have to cancel a tour, you will of course receive a full refund.
